Prayagraj, Dec 14: The Allahabad High Court granted permission on Thursday for the primary survey of the Shahi Idgah complex near the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. The inspection will be conducted by a court-appointed team of three advocate commissioners under court supervision.

When the court reconvenes on December 18, the survey’s modalities will be addressed.

The Hindu side’s attorney Vishnu Shankar Jain stated “Allahabad HC has allowed our application where we had demanded a survey of (Shahi Idgah Masjid) by the advocate commissioner. The modalities will be decided on Dec 18. The court has rejected the arguments of Shahi Idgah Masjid. My demand was that in Shahi Idgah Masjid there are a lot of signs & symbols of the Hindu temple, and to know the actual position, an advocate commissioner is required. It’s a landmark judgement by the court.”

The Hindu side filed an application to assign a court appointed advocate commissioner., and the Allahabad High Court had earlier on November 16 reserved its order.

The Hindu side asserts that Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb built the Idgah mosque by razing a temple situated on 13.37 acres at the birthplace of Lord Krishna. The primary legal case is currently awaiting resolution in the High Court.

There are a total of 17 lawsuits awaiting resolution in the High Court. The central claims in these cases seek a declaration that the land in question, where the Shahi Eidgah Mosque is located, belongs to the deity Lord Shri Krishna Virajman. Additionally, these lawsuits seek an order for the removal of the mosque by the defendant.
