Daltonganj, August 15: A double murder has shaken the Chhaterpur police station jurisdiction in Palamu on Independence Day.
According to police, the incident stemmed from family tensions. A mentally unstable man, identified as 25-year-old Permode Prajapati, allegedly killed his 45-year-old mother-in-law, Sushila Devi, in Dinadaag village. The officer-in-charge of Chhaterpur police station, Prashant Prasad, confirmed the details.

Police recovered the spade believed to have been used in the killings.
The FIR was lodged by Shobha, Sushila’s daughter and the wife of the accused.
Authorities stated that the matter has effectively concluded, as both individuals involved are now deceased. Initial reports suggest that the altercation began when the mother-in-law assaulted her son-in-law, leading to a confrontation that tragically ended in the deaths of both.
