Bijapur, August 18: A DRG jawan lost his life and three others sustained injuries in an IED explosion triggered by Naxalites in Bijapur’s National Park area on Monday morning, police confirmed.
IG Bastar P. Sundarraj informed that the blast took place when a District Reserve Guard (DRG) team was carrying out an anti-Maoist operation in the region.
The explosion claimed the life of jawan Dinesh Nag, while his three injured colleagues were immediately given first aid.
Officials said the wounded personnel are in stable condition and are being shifted for advanced medical care. Further details are expected once the ongoing operation concludes.
