New Delhi, August 19: Senior IPS officer Kuldeep Dwivedi has been appointed as Joint Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) by the Government of India.
A 2005-batch officer of the Jharkhand cadre, Dwivedi earlier served as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Ranchi.

Known for his integrity and disciplined approach, Dwivedi hails from Uttar Pradesh. An engineering graduate, he cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination and joined the Indian Police Service under the Jharkhand cadre.
Early in his career, he was posted in Naxal-hit districts, where he led several major operations that significantly weakened Maoist networks.
As Ranchi SSP, he introduced new measures in crime control, traffic management, and urban security, earning public appreciation in the state capital.

Dwivedi emphasized citizen-friendly policing and the use of technology in crime prevention. While he adopted a firm stance against Naxal activities, he was also recognized for his humane approach and efforts to build public trust.
