Mumbai, August 19: The BCCI selection committee, headed by chief selector Ajit Agarkar and joined by T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav, announced India’s squad for the Asia Cup 2025 after a meeting between BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia and the selectors.

Shubman Gill has been named vice-captain, while pace ace Jasprit Bumrah returns to strengthen the squad.

Shreyas Iyer and Yashasvi Jaiswal missed out, though Jaiswal features among the five standby players. Despite a below-par IPL, Rinku Singh secured a place in the 15-member team.

The main squad includes: Suryakumar Yadav (Captain), Shubman Gill (Vice-Captain), Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Jitesh Sharma (WK), Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, Sanju Samson (WK), Harshit Rana, and Rinku Singh.

Additionally, the board named five reserves: Prasidh Krishna, Washington Sundar, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, and Dhruv Jurel.
