THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK
Daltonganj, August 20: ‘Organised crime network is like a banyan tree having adventitious or prop roots where if one prop root is trimmed, the other grows and grows’ was the observation of once upon a time senior police officer who had had his stint in Palamu district.
This observation has not proved wrong. The surrender of Dabloo Singh, a dreaded gangster, to SP Palamu Reeshma Ramesan had a very little respite for the police when it was upto abort and foil the organised crime by another prop root Rahul Singh within hours of the surrender.
Timely Arrests Prevent New Terror Network
Was the plan to create terror by Rahul Singh’s men, which the police badly aborted, a grim reminder to the police here that surrender of a gangster is never a curtain down to the organised crime here in Palamu?

Police caught four of the men of Rahul Singh trying to establish a new badge of terror.
The arrest of the 4 was very timely and prompt, which speaks volumes of the police’s meticulous planning and its execution.

Austrian Weapon Raises Alarm
The arrest of the 4 led police to tumble upon a highly priced and prized block weapon, a multi-lakh pistol, an Austrian one.
A foreign-made weapon in the hands of men of Rahul Singh, the gangster!
Additional SP Operations Rakesh Singh in his press briefing on Tuesday afternoon, told mediapersons that police would do all to find out how such a sophisticated Austrian weapon reached Palamu and further how gangster Rahul Singh had procured it.
Organised crime network is driven by fear and terror and it is done by way of firing either at the target or in the open as the purpose of spreading terror is served no matter in which direction the firearms shots fired north, south, east or west. It’s terror that spreads all around.
The more the weapon is big, sophisticated and sharp the more thick is the quantum of terror.

Ongoing Challenge for Palamu Police
However, Palamu police quite successfully preempted the commission of crime by the bullies of the organised crime network of Rahul Singh.
One Dabloo Singh is in judicial custody, the other Rahul Singh is out, and for Palamu police, it’s a challenge round the clock to thumb down the organised crime.
Organised crime in Palamu is mostly related to land grabbing, extortion and sometimes contract killing. Land grabbing is a serious issue here in Palamu, where disputed land is forcibly occupied by the gangster.
