New Delhi, August 20: The Supreme Court collegium, led by Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai, has cleared the names of two judges—Justice Budi Habung and Justice N. Unni Krishnan Nair—for elevation as permanent judges of the Gauhati High Court.

The decision was taken at the collegium’s meeting held on August 19, 2025, according to an official communication.

In the same meeting, the collegium also resolved to extend the tenure of Justice Kaushik Goswami as an additional judge of the Gauhati High Court for another one year, beginning November 10.
