Jharkhand News: DPS Ranchi hosts inter-school PPT competition on higher education reforms

Ranchi, August 22: Delhi Public School, Ranchi, in collaboration with the social initiative ‘PRAYAS – The Effort’, successfully organized an Inter-School PowerPoint Presentation Competition aimed at exploring solutions to enhance the higher education system in Jharkhand.

The theme of the competition was “How to Improve the Higher Education System in Jharkhand”. Dr. Sumbul Alam graced the occasion as the distinguished guest.

A total of 34 participants from 11 schools across Ranchi and neighbouring districts took part in the event, showcasing their creativity, research, and vision for a better educational landscape.

The competition witnessed a series of powerful and well-researched presentations. Participants highlighted key challenges in Jharkhand’s higher education system—such as lack of infrastructure, faculty shortages, and limited research facilities—and proposed actionable solutions including technology integration, international collaborations, skill-based programs, and policy reforms.

The first prize was bagged by Bishop Westcott Girls’ School, Doranda, represented by Sanobar Faiyyazi and Swagata Mukherjee, and they were felicitated with the Late Ajit Kumar Kaur Deol Trophy.

The second prize was jointly secured by Delhi Public School, Ranchi (represented by Vanshika Poddar and Divya) and Ideal International School (Sara Parveen and Vanya Krishna), and they were bestowed with the RR Tiwari Memorial Trophy.

The third prize was shared by Sarla Birla Public School (Vinay Kumar Mishra and Shreya Raj) and Surendranath Centenary School (Pratyush Pathak and Kanishk Agarwal). The fourth prize went to Firayalal Public School, represented by Daksh Seth and Akshita Prasad.

Dr. Jaya Chauhan, Principal, DPS Ranchi, stated, “At DPS Ranchi, we believe education is not confined to classrooms. By hosting such events, we aim to nurture critical thinking and civic consciousness among students. I am proud of every participant who took this opportunity to explore and present ideas that can positively impact the education system of our state. Their enthusiasm and efforts are truly commendable.”
