Sacred Heart Convent School hosts Indian Youth Parliamentary Debate

Jamshedpur, August 22: Sacred Heart Convent School, in collaboration with the Association of Sacred Heart Alumni (ASHA) and KSCESC, successfully organised the Indian Youth Parliamentary Debate 2025 on Friday.

The debate revolved around the thought-provoking resolution “Abolition of Reservation – Time for a Merit-Based System?” and witnessed an engaging exchange of ideas from young debaters. With more than 300 students in attendance, the event provided an intellectually stimulating platform for discussions on a subject of national importance.

Winners of the Debate:

Government Panel, Best Speaker: Pragya Datta, 2nd Best Speaker: Riya Choudhary,

Opposition Panel, Best Speaker: Pragya Singh, 2nd Best Speaker: O.M. Parvati,

Special Awards, Best Whip: Tangam, Best Rebuttal: Adya Singh, Best PoI: Pragya Singh

The debate was coordinated by teachers Namita Jha and Manjeet Kaur of Sacred Heart Convent School. The panel of judges included Nisha Taunk and Debashish Chatterjee, while the session was chaired by Khushboo Singh, President of KSCESC.

The programme was supported and co-organised by Lalitha Seshadri, President of ASHA, on behalf of the Association of Sacred Heart Alumni.

Highlighting the essence of the event, the organisers said the debate not only encouraged critical thinking and effective communication but also strengthened the spirit of democratic dialogue among the youth, preparing them to become responsible citizens of tomorrow.
