Jamshedpur, Sept 5: A major burglary was reported at Kashidih under Sakchi police station area late last night, where miscreants broke into a ration shop and fled with cash and goods worth around Rs 1.5 lakh.
Shop owner Sumit Kumar Agarwal said the burglars stole Rs 70,000 in cash along with a large stock of dry fruits.

The criminals gained entry by breaking the shop’s weak, old door. The theft was discovered in the morning, following which the police were informed.

Sakchi police reached the spot and began an investigation. CCTV footage from the area is being examined to trace the culprits.
Officials said suspects are already under watch and arrests will be made soon.
Local residents alleged that anti-social elements have been active in the area for some time and demanded stronger night patrolling to prevent such incidents.

Police have assured that the accused will be nabbed quickly, but the incident has once again raised questions over the city’s law and order situation.
