Hazaribagh: The Hazaribagh ACB Court has denied bail to suspended IAS officer Vinay Choubey, who is accused in the Sevayat land scam during his tenure as Hazaribagh DC.
The court had reserved its decision following extensive arguments by both sides during the hearing on Friday, September 12.

Advocate Shankar Banerjee represented Vinay Choubey, while Special Public Prosecutor Abhishek Krishna Gupta argued on behalf of the ACB.

Vinay Choubey will remain in jail for the time being.
The FIR in this case was registered in August 2025 under case number 9/2025. Earlier, Choubey was also named as an accused in the Jharkhand liquor scam.
However, he had secured bail in that case because the chargesheet was not filed within the stipulated time.

In the current Sevayat land scam case, since bail has been denied, Choubey will continue to be behind bars.
