Jamshedpur, Sept 23: In a major operation against drug trafficking, Baharagora police nabbed four individuals with 106 packets of brown sugar.
The arrests were officially announced by Rural SP Rishabh Garg during a press conference here on Tuesday.
Those arrested were identified as Chandan Khatua, Anshu Mishra, Raja Rajak and Rakesh Kumar.

Acting on a tip-off that a consignment of brown sugar was being transported on motorcycles from Barsole, a special raid team was formed under the leadership of Ghatshila SDPO Ajit Kujur.

The police intercepted the suspects near Vrindavan Hotel on the National Highway. On being stopped, the bikers attempted to flee but were swiftly chased down and apprehended.
The arrested have been identified as Chandan Khatua, Rakesh Kumar Shand, Raja Rajak, and Anshu Mishra.
During the search, police recovered 60 pouches (5.20 gm) from Khatua, 21 pouches (1.91 gm) from Rakesh, 12 pouches (1.05 gm) from Raja, and 13 pouches (1.22 gm) from Anshu — totaling 106 pouches weighing 9.380 grams.
Additionally, two motorcycles, five mobile phones, and Rs 1,550 in cash were seized.

SP Garg confirmed that a case has been registered under NDPS Act at Baharagora Police Station (Case No. 68/2025) and further investigation is underway.
