Dhanbad, Sept 26: Upholding Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy of Swachhata and responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call under the Swachhotsav–Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 campaign, Delhi Public School (DPS), Bokaro, launched a special cleanliness drive on the birth anniversary of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya.
The school community joined the nationwide ‘Shramdaan’ initiative under the Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath sanitation movement. Students and staff came together to actively participate in the campaign, demonstrating their commitment to building a cleaner and healthier environment.

Under the guidance of Principal Dr. A. S. Gangwar, students enthusiastically cleaned classrooms, corridors, playgrounds, and other areas across the campus. The effort was further reinforced by a cleanliness pledge, through which both students and staff committed themselves to maintaining hygiene and contributing to the vision of a cleaner and greener India.
Students also prepared inspiring slogans such as “Clean India, Green India” and “Swachhata Hi Seva”, along with placards highlighting the importance of sanitation. The young learners inspired the community to adopt cleanliness as a way of life, reaffirming the Mahatma’s vision of a clean and developed India.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. A. S. Gangwar emphasized that cleanliness is not only a matter of individual discipline but also a vital element of environmental conservation and national progress. “The Swachhata Mission laid the foundation for a healthy, self-reliant and dignified society, essential to making India a developed nation,” he said.
