Jamshedpur, Oct 7: In a major breakthrough, Jamshedpur Police on Tuesday arrested a key member of the notorious Bhanu Manjhi gang with a loaded firearm from Uliyan TOP Ground under Kadma police station area.
The arrested youth has been identified as Manish Singh (20), a resident of Bhatia Basti, Kadma.
Police recovered a loaded country-made semi-automatic pistol and three live cartridges from his possession.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Piyush Pandey informed during a press conference that Manish Singh was actively involved with the Bhanu Manjhi gang, which is known for extortion activities in the city by threatening people at gunpoint.

Acting on a tip-off that Singh was planning a major criminal act in the Uliyan area, a joint team of Kadma Police and Uliyan TOP conducted a swift operation and nabbed him on the spot.
He is currently being interrogated to extract information about other gang members and their recent criminal activities. After questioning, he was sent to judicial custody.
Police reiterated that strict action and continuous drives will continue to curb criminal gang-related activities in the city.
