Jamshedpur, Oct 30: A teenage girl was found lying bludgeoned to death in a forest stretch under Kandra thana area in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district, about 20 km away from here on Thursday morning.
The body was found in Bhurudih jungle situated between Gamharia and Kandra, a little distance away from the Adityapur-Kandra four-lane.
The body was identified as that of Neha Nayak, daughter of Nirudh Nayak, a resident of Shibpur village located adjoining the Bhurudih jungle.

The victim was bludgeoned to death while she had been in the forest stretch responding to nature’s call early in the morning.
Kandra thana OC, Binod Kumar Murmu, confirmed it to be a case of murder but could not say anything about the reason behind it.
“The victim’s apparel, including the undergarments, was intact. No sign of rape as such was found in the preliminary enquiry. We have sent the body to Seraikela Sadar Hospital for postmortem,” said Murmu while talking to The Jharkhand Story.

Sources in the police, however, pointed out that someone closely known to the victim might have committed the murder, adding that there may be an attempted rape angle behind the murder.
The police are trying to solve the case by intensifying the investigation.
