Five Naxals injured in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district encounter

Sukma, Dec 20: In an encounter with security personnel on Wednesday in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, at least five Naxalites suffered injuries.

A team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG), a state police unit, along with the CoBRA 201 battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Bastar Fighters, a police unit dedicated to battling left-wing extremism in Chhattisgarh, were on an anti-Naxalite operation when the gunfight broke out in the forests of Nagaram and Kotta Palli villages, according to police.

Police said a big Naxal camp as well as explosives and a large amount of Naxal material were discovered there.

They further stated that the encounter is still ongoing and that all soldiers are safe as of right now.
