Jamshedpur, Nov. 25: Jamshedpur’s art community is preparing for a proud moment this December, as several of the city’s young artists get ready to present their work on an important international platform.
The prestigious “Divine Comedy” art exhibition, to be held from December 12 to 15 at the Nandalal Bose Art Gallery, ICCR, Kolkata, will feature seven artists from the Steel City.
Among those chosen are young talents and co-founders of Dexter Art Club — Arun Kumar, Ishika Mukherjee, and Pritam Das.
Their selection reflects the growing artistic influence of Jamshedpur and the rising recognition of creative talent from smaller cities.
The event is being hosted by Dexter Art Club, a group formed by self-taught artists with the goal of supporting creative minds who do not have access to formal art education.
The exhibition will feature various art forms, including painting, sculpture, and photography.
Artists from different countries will also participate, with France being the special focus country this year.
Support for Traditional Art and Handicrafts
To promote traditional art, there will be stalls for handicraft artisans, including a family with a long history in Pattachitra art.
Workshops by Leading Creative Brands
The exhibition will offer enriching workshops by well-known brands such as Nikon, Faber-Castell, and Pidilite, giving participants valuable technical and creative learning opportunities.
Theatrical Performance on the Closing Day
The final day, December 15, will include a special theatrical performance, adding a dramatic element to the event.
Actor Sanjib Sarkar, wildlife photographer Joydeep Kondu, and artist Sourav Shi are among the important guests expected at the exhibition.

Speaking about the event, participating artist Ishika Mukherjee said, “The exhibition is aimed at creating a vibrant space where varied art forms intersect and meaningful dialogue among artists flourishes.”
