Dhanbad, Dec 1: JMM MLA Mathura Prasad Mahto has been elected the new president of the Jharkhand State Taekwondo Association, succeeding High Court advocate Ravi Kumar. The election took place during the Association’s annual general meeting held in Dhanbad on Sunday evening.
Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji was chosen as the new Chairperson, replacing the late Shibu Soren. The Association had earlier approached Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s wife, Kalpana Soren, to take up the role of Patron, but she declined the request.
Given MLA Mahto’s busy schedule, Sensai Gopal Prasad of Jamshedpur has been appointed Executive President to assist in day-to-day functioning.
