Leading the demonstration, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge—joined by Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, senior DMK leaders T. R. Baalu and Kanimozhi and other MPs—accused the government of manipulating the process and vowed to continue raising the issue inside and outside the House.
