‘Ignite 2025’ Day 3 at Sona Devi University features volleyball, cricket and athletics

Jamshedpur, Dec 11: The third day of the four-day annual sports festival Ignite 2025, organised by Sona Devi University, Ghatshila, was filled with excitement, competitive spirit and remarkable performances.

The day began with a volleyball match, where Dr. Neelmani Kumar, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, encouraged the players and extended his best wishes.

In the final match, a fierce contest unfolded between Warriors (Yellow) House and Knights (Blue) House. Displaying teamwork and consistency, Warriors (Yellow) House clinched the championship title.

The women’s carrom final also drew strong interest from sports enthusiasts. Knights (Blue) House players Aparna and Monali secured first place, while Mausami and Reshmi from Spartans (Red) House finished second.

The long jump event highlighted the athletes’ agility and determination. Aman from Spartans (Red) House claimed first place, followed by Akash Murmu in second, and Akash Singh from Warriors (Yellow) House in third.

The skipping competition witnessed remarkable speed, rhythm and coordination. Monali secured first place, Ananya came second, and Sneha finished third.

Knights (Blue) House emerged as the overall winner in this category. In the girls’ rope-skipping event, Monali Mohata took first place, followed by Ananya and Sneha in second and third positions, respectively.

The most awaited event of the day was the final cricket match, which was graced by the presence of newly appointed Vice-Chancellor Dr. Braj Mohan Pat Pingua.

Addressing the participants, he emphasized that sports help build discipline, focus, team spirit and positive energy. He praised the determination, dedication and strong performance of both Warriors (Yellow) House and Spartans (Red) House.

Day three of Ignite 2025 left an inspiring impact with memorable moments. The enthusiasm, competitive spirit and dedication displayed by the students reaffirmed that the festival is not just about winning—it is a celebration of talent, teamwork and excellence.
