Jamshedpur, Dec 15: As part of the ongoing anti-narcotics drive “Operation Prahar”, Sidhgora police of Jamshedpur achieved a significant success by arresting two drug peddlers involved in the illegal trade of brown sugar.
The action followed a specific tip-off indicating that certain youths were actively engaged in selling brown sugar in small packets to customers.
After discreet verification of the information, a special police team was formed under the supervision of the Sidhgora Police Station in-charge and a raid was conducted at the identified location.

During the operation, two suspects were apprehended on the spot. A search led to the seizure of 43 packets of brown sugar, three mobile phones and a motorcycle used in the illicit trade.
Police interrogation revealed that the arrested individuals had been involved in drug trafficking for a considerable period and were supplying narcotics at the local level, particularly targeting youths. Further investigation is underway to trace their supply chain and identify other persons linked to the network.
A case has been registered against the accused under relevant legal provisions at Sidgora Police Station. Following due legal procedures, both were produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.

Police officials reaffirmed that “Operation Prahar” will continue with uncompromising strictness and warned that those engaged in the drug trade will face stern legal action.
