Ranchi, Dec. 22: In a major push to make competitive exam preparation accessible, Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday inaugurated the Dishom Guru Shibu Soren Engineering (JEE) and Medical (NEET) Coaching Institute in Ranchi. The institute will offer free JEE and NEET coaching to Tribal, Scheduled Caste, Backward Class and Minority students of Jharkhand.

Located in Hindpiri, Ranchi, the institute aims to stop the forced migration of students to other states for costly coaching.

“No More Going Outside Jharkhand for JEE-NEET”

Interacting with students, the Chief Minister said that Jharkhand’s youth will now get high-level coaching within the state.
“Children of Jharkhand will prepare for JEE and NEET right here in Ranchi,” he said, calling the institute a symbol of education, culture, and unity.

The Chief Minister also unveiled a statue of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren and paid tribute, describing the institute as an inspiration for the new generation.

Second Chance for Deserving Students

Highlighting student welfare, Hemant Soren said candidates who narrowly missed selection in the ability test should be given another opportunity. He said many talented students fail due to circumstances, and a second chance would help unlock their true potential.

He also stressed the importance of sports along with education, saying it builds discipline, confidence, and leadership skills.

Jharkhand Government’s Focus on Education

The Chief Minister said education is the backbone of Jharkhand’s social and economic development. He highlighted key initiatives including:

  • Savitribai Phule Kishori Samriddhi Yojana for adolescent girls
  • Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships for SC, ST, OBC and Minority students
  • 80 CM Schools of Excellence providing quality education to poor and working-class children
  • Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Overseas Scholarship Scheme for tribal students studying abroad
  • Guruji Credit Card Scheme, offering education loans up to ₹15 lakh with easy repayment after employment

At RIMS, Ranchi, 30 students are also receiving special coaching for medical entrance exams.

“Quality Education for Every Child”

Expressing confidence in the state’s direction, Hemant Soren said Jharkhand is steadily moving towards becoming a leading education hub.
“Our goal is clear—quality education for every child and opportunity for every youth,” he said.

Who Was Present

Minister Chamra Linda, Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Maji, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Development Commissioner Ajay Kumar Singh, senior officials, and hundreds of students attended the event.
