Jamshedpur, Dec 23: Jharkhand’s finest cueists put up an impressive show at the State Ranking Billiards and Snooker Championship, organised by the Jharkhand State Billiards and Snooker Association at The United Club, Jamshedpur, from December 15 to 21.
The week-long tournament brought together nearly 60 players from Jamshedpur, Ranchi and Hazaribagh, showcasing competitive flair and technical excellence across categories.

In the junior Snooker section, Anish Raj of Hazaribagh emerged victorious, with Abhinav Tamang of Ranchi finishing runner-up.

The senior Billiards category witnessed a dominant performance by Anish Parikh of Jamshedpur, followed by fellow city cueist Sushant Sinha. Niraj Singh of Ranchi and Anseth Pereira of Jamshedpur completed the podium positions.
Anish Parikh continued his rich vein of form in the Senior Snooker event as well, once again finishing on top.
He was followed by Sushant Sinha of Jamshedpur, while Prateek Lal and Shubham Gupta, both from Ranchi, secured the remaining positions.
With this outstanding display, Anish Parikh successfully defended his Senior Billiards and Snooker titles from last season, underlining his supremacy in the state circuit.

All medal winners will represent Jharkhand at the National Billiards and Snooker Championships scheduled to be held in Haryana in January 2026.
The championship also marked a proud moment for the state, as Susma Gautam Khanal will, for the first time, represent Jharkhand in the Senior Women’s Snooker category at the national level, reflecting the expanding footprint of cue sports in the state.
