DRISTI volunteers celebrate Holi with elderly at Ranchi senior citizen home

 

Ranchi, March 5: DRISTI volunteers organised “Khushrang — Radiating Happiness in Every Hue” on March 3, at the Senior Citizen Home, DAV Nandraj, Bariatu, Ranchi, as a vibrant celebration aimed at spreading joy and togetherness among elderly residents.

Guided by DRISTI Co-Founder Shubhanshu Shekhar Shukla, the initiative focused on bringing warmth, companionship and meaningful moments to senior citizens.

Organised under DRISTI’s Daksha Pillar, the event celebrated the spirit of Holi with enthusiasm. Volunteers and residents enjoyed the festival with safe herbal colours, creating a lively atmosphere filled with colours, laughter and heartfelt conversations.

To add a festive touch, the team distributed traditional delicacies such as dahi vada and mathri, making the celebration feel warm and homely.

Thoughtful gestures for residents

Volunteers also presented roses accompanied by handwritten notes as tokens of love and appreciation, ensuring that every resident felt valued and cherished.

The celebration included vibrant rangoli designs and a lively round of antakshari, which sparked nostalgia and brought smiles to the faces of the elderly participants.

The event was coordinated under the leadership of Chapter Lead Aditya Sunar, with volunteers including Tejal Burman, Tanu Kumari, Naina Barnwal, Abhilasha Sharan, Shivangee Tiwary, Mohit Kumar and others, ensuring smooth execution.

The celebration helped strengthen intergenerational connections and highlighted how small acts of kindness can bring lasting happiness to communities.
