New Delhi,  March 30: Delhi Police has arrested a 47-year-old man from Mysuru, Karnataka, for allegedly sending more than 1,100 hoax bomb threat messages to schools, hospitals, high courts, and government offices across India.

The accused, identified as Srinivas Louis, is a postgraduate and a native of Bengaluru. He is currently unemployed and lives with his mother, a retired government employee.

Accused sent threats to schools, courts, govt offices

The arrest comes amid a recent surge in bomb threat messages targeting key institutions, including the Delhi High Court, the Assembly, and several educational and government establishments in the national capital.

There were also several hoax calls threatening to blow up courts and other premises in Jharkhand in recent weeks, adding to the nationwide concern over such incidents.

According to police, Louis was arrested from his rented accommodation in Mysuru on Saturday during a joint operation by Delhi Police and local police teams.

Investigation underway, multiple FIRs registered

Officials said the accused had been making hundreds of calls and sending emails over the past few months, repeatedly threatening to blow up major establishments across the country.

“Preliminary investigation suggests he may have been under mental stress. During initial interrogation, he confessed to sending over 1,100 threat messages through emails and other communication platforms,” a senior police officer said.

Police are bringing him to Delhi for further interrogation and remand to determine whether he issued similar threats in other locations.

Authorities confirmed that multiple FIRs have been registered in different states in connection with the hoax threats.
