Jamshedpur, April 23: A 38-year-old Supreme Court advocate, Shashi Bhushan, was killed in a hit-and-run incident near Mount View School on Dimna Road under Ulidih outpost area on Thursday morning.

The incident occurred around 7 am, when Bhushan was standing by the roadside. According to eyewitnesses, a speeding car lost control and rammed into him, dragging him nearly 50 feet before stopping.

Locals rushed to the spot and caught the driver, but the situation turned tense as the crowd allegedly assaulted him. Amid the chaos, the accused managed to escape.

Declared Dead at Hospital

Police reached the scene and took Bhushan to MGM Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Family members said Bhushan had just arrived in Jamshedpur from Delhi earlier that morning. His brother stated that he had stepped out briefly, saying he would return soon, shortly before the accident.

Police have seized the vehicle involved and launched a manhunt to trace the absconding driver. Raids are being conducted at multiple locations.

The incident has raised fresh concerns over reckless driving and road safety in the city.
