PINAKI MAJUMDAR
Jamshedpur, May 23: Residents of Jamshedpur are set to feel the pinch as petrol and diesel prices have been raised for the third time in just eight days. CNG rates also went up by Re 1 on Saturday.

Under the latest revision, petrol (MS) price has increased from Rs 101.73 to Rs 102.61 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) has risen from Rs 96.66 to Rs 97.61 per litre.
Speed petrol now costs Rs 111.54 per litre, up from Rs 110.67.

This follows two recent fuel price hikes on May 15 and May 19, reflecting a steady upward trend that is expected to impact daily commuters, transport operators and household budgets across the city.
“The back-to-back hikes are putting extra pressure on our monthly expenses,” said a city commuter, while a transport operator remarked, “Rising fuel costs will inevitably affect transportation charges.”
With fuel prices rising repeatedly, residents now fear a ripple effect on commodity prices and public transport fares in the coming days.
