Ranchi, June 2: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi is hosting a two-day “Teaching with Cases Seminar” on June 2 and 3, aimed at enhancing excellence in management education through case-based teaching and participant-centred learning.

The institute has invited Willis M. Emmons, Senior Lecturer of Business Administration at Harvard Business School and Director of the C. Roland Christensen Centre for Teaching and Learning, as the resource person for the faculty development programme.
Focus on Case-Based Learning
During the seminar, faculty members of IIM Ranchi will participate in interactive discussions and practical sessions on the effective use of case studies in classrooms, facilitating meaningful discussions and creating engaging, student-centric learning environments.

The programme offers participants an opportunity to learn from one of the leading global experts in case-method pedagogy.
Enhancing Teaching Practices
The seminar is expected to strengthen classroom teaching practices and improve the overall learning experience for students by encouraging more interactive and impactful educational approaches.

Harvard Expert in Management Education
Emmons is internationally recognised for his contributions to case-method teaching and has headed the C. Roland Christensen Centre for Teaching and Learning since 2004.
Through the centre, he has promoted teaching excellence and innovation at Harvard Business School while supporting educators around the world in adopting participant-centred learning methods.
Before joining the Christensen Centre, Emmons served as Associate Professor at the McDonough School of Business, where he received the Graduate Teaching Award in 2003.
He has also taught at Harvard Business School and worked extensively with corporate leaders, educational institutions and governments on business strategy and public policy.
