RSS demands probe into Ranchi office attack

Ranchi, June 17: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has formally lodged a complaint with the Chutia police station regarding the alleged petrol bomb attack on its Jharkhand provincial office at Nivaranpur, Ranchi, and demanded enhanced security measures, including the establishment of a permanent police outpost near the premises.

In a letter addressed to the officer-in-charge of Chutia police station, RSS Jharkhand Prant Karyalaya Pramukh Narasingh Kumar alleged that unidentified persons attacked the Sangh office with petrol bombs at around 12.36 am on June 17.

CCTV Footage Captured Incident, Claims RSS

According to the complaint, CCTV footage purportedly shows two unidentified individuals involved in the attack. The RSS claimed that the suspects’ faces were not clearly visible and alleged that petrol bombs were hurled at the office premises more than once.

The organisation stated that around 20 people stay at the Sangh office, and the incident could have resulted in loss of life and extensive damage to property.

The complaint described the alleged attack as a serious attempt that could have endangered occupants of the premises and damaged the office building.

Demand for Security Measures

The RSS urged the police administration to ensure adequate security for the Nivaranpur office and sought the establishment of a police picket near the premises.

The organisation also demanded strict legal action against those responsible and called for a thorough investigation to identify the culprits and determine the motive behind the incident.

Copies Sent to Top Officials

Copies of the complaint have been forwarded to the Home Secretary, Director General of Police (DGP), Deputy Commissioner (DC), Ranchi, and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Ranchi, seeking prompt intervention and enhanced security arrangements.

Police are investigating the incident. No official statement on arrests or identification of suspects had been issued till the filing of this report.
