New Delhi, July 8: The Jharkhand government on Tuesday held a series of meetings with global technology companies, including Google, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM and Amazon Web Services (AWS), to explore partnerships for artificial intelligence (AI)-based governance, digital infrastructure, cloud computing and workforce development as part of its Vision 2050 initiative.
The Business-to-Government (B2G) meetings were held on the sidelines of the National Stakeholders Consultation on Vision 2050, chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
Chief Minister outlines technology vision
Mr. Soren said the State government was committed to adopting emerging technologies to improve governance while combining Jharkhand’s traditional knowledge with modern technological advancements.
The consultations brought together representatives from Google, Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, AWS, Salesforce, Techstar, Leah AI, Mamsys and other technology firms to discuss collaboration in digital governance and innovation.

AI, cloud and digital governance
Google discussed the use of AI in governance, healthcare, emergency response systems, language technologies and digital skilling. The company proposed an AI training and certification programme for three to four lakh K-12 teachers and discussed signing a Statement of Intent with the State government. The discussions also covered AI-enabled ambulance management and integrated healthcare platforms.
Oracle expressed interest in partnering with the State on AI, cloud computing and digital skilling. It proposed industry-oriented training, certification programmes and workforce development initiatives to build a future-ready talent pool.
Microsoft discussed the development of a unified AI-driven data intelligence platform to integrate information across government departments, improve data-driven decision-making and automate administrative processes. The company also explored the use of low-code platforms for faster digital service delivery.
Focus on mining, healthcare and public services
IBM proposed AI-based solutions for mining, healthcare, banking and cybersecurity. The company also offered a proof of concept for AI-enabled governance solutions tailored to the State’s requirements.
AWS discussed collaboration on secure cloud infrastructure, AI-powered data integration, digital governance, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), education and centralised decision-making dashboards. It also offered to develop a proof of concept for AI-based governance solutions.
Discussions with other technology firms focused on AI-powered analytics, hybrid cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and digital platforms aimed at improving public service delivery, reducing leakages in welfare schemes and strengthening institutional capacity through training programmes.
Vision 2050 roadmap
Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar and senior government officials also participated in the discussions and interacted with industry representatives on the State’s digital transformation plans.
The consultations are part of the Jharkhand government’s efforts to seek industry inputs for its Vision 2050 roadmap and to attract investments in technology-driven governance and the digital economy.
