Jamshedpur, July 13: In a significant move to redefine management education for the future of work, XLRI – Xavier School of Management has entered into a strategic partnership with Dale Carnegie India to equip students and working professionals with globally recognised leadership, communication and behavioural skills.
The collaboration was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between XLRI Leadership Education and Development (XLEAD) and Dale Carnegie India. It aims to bridge the widening gap between technical expertise and human-centric leadership capabilities, which are becoming increasingly critical in an AI-driven and digitally transformed business landscape.
Combining XLRI’s 75-year legacy in management education with Dale Carnegie’s century-old global expertise in leadership development, the partnership seeks to establish a new benchmark in executive education and professional learning.
The initiative is designed to prepare future managers not only to excel in business but also to inspire teams, navigate organisational change and lead with confidence, empathy and integrity.
As part of the collaboration, the two institutions will jointly design and deliver industry-focused programmes covering business communication, executive presence, influencing and persuasion, business storytelling, executive coaching, presentation effectiveness, public speaking, emotional intelligence and other critical leadership competencies.
The programmes will be delivered through classroom sessions, live online learning and blended formats, with participants receiving globally recognised certifications.

‘Education must shape character as well as competence’
Speaking on the occasion, Fr. Sebastian George, S.J., Director of XLRI, said the institute has always believed that education should shape character as much as competence.
“While technology continues to redefine workplaces, qualities such as ethical leadership, empathy, clear communication and trust remain uniquely human strengths that cannot be replicated by machines. This partnership with Dale Carnegie India further strengthens XLRI’s commitment to nurturing responsible leaders capable of creating meaningful impact across industries and society,” he said.
‘Behavioural excellence will define future success’
Pallavi Jha, Chairperson and Managing Director of Dale Carnegie India, described the partnership as a milestone in leadership education.
“This collaboration brings Dale Carnegie’s century-old expertise in behavioural excellence to one of India’s premier business schools, enabling students and executives to develop the confidence, influence and people skills that will increasingly determine career success in the decades ahead,” she said.
Addressing industry’s evolving talent needs
The partnership comes at a time when organisations across the world are placing greater emphasis on behavioural and interpersonal skills alongside technical expertise.
With artificial intelligence automating routine tasks, employers are increasingly seeking professionals who can communicate effectively, build trust, solve complex problems collaboratively and lead diverse teams.
The XLRI–Dale Carnegie alliance aims to address this evolving demand by integrating behavioural excellence into mainstream management education.
Beyond executive programmes, the collaboration will also create opportunities for knowledge sharing, leadership workshops, faculty engagement and customised learning interventions for corporate executives.
The initiative aligns with XLRI’s philosophy of “Management with a Human Face”, reinforcing its commitment to developing socially responsible, ethically grounded and globally competent leaders.
