According to the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) update issued at 2.30 am on November 4, Murasu had weakened into a deep depression over coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining east Telangana. The system is expected to lose strength gradually as it moves inland.

Light rain forecast in parts of Jharkhand

The IMD has forecast light rainfall on Wednesday in East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Ranchi, Khunti, Gumla, Simdega and Lohardaga.

Jamshedpur and adjoining areas of Kolhan experienced cloudy skies and intermittent showers at some places since morning.

Officials at the Ranchi Meteorological Centre indicated that Murasu was unlikely to have any major impact on Jharkhand. However, the system may keep weather conditions unsettled for a few more days, with rainfall activity expected to gradually decline.

Cooler weather expected from November 5

Weather conditions are likely to begin improving from November 5, when cloud cover is expected to decrease and temperatures may start falling.

Minimum temperatures could drop by around 2–3 degrees Celsius, bringing a noticeable chill during early mornings and at night.

While heavy rain, waterlogging and infrastructure damage have been reported in several coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand’s immediate outlook is for temporary cloudiness and scattered rain rather than a direct cyclone threat.

Residents can expect gradually clearer skies and cooler November weather as Murasu’s remnants weaken further.
