Kolkata, Jan 11: In response to an FIR filed against Enforcement Directorate personnel after the Sandeshkhali raid, the Calcutta High Court on Thursday ordered that no coercive measures be taken against the officers.
According to the ED, on January 5, an attack occurred on them at Sandeshkhali in the North 24 Parganas district that resulted in the injuries of three of its officials and the snatching of their personal items. The attack took place when they went to raid Shajahan Sheikh’s home in relation to suspected anomalies in the state rationing scheme.

In court, the ED’s attorney stated that they had learned of four cases filed related to the incident.
He mentioned that one of these cases was filed by ED over assault on its officials, while another was related to legal action taken against its officers.
Justice Jay Sengupta verbally ordered that no forceful measures can be initiated regarding an FIR filed against ED officials who conducted a search at Sheikh’s premises in Sandeshkhali.
