Fake task-based money-making scheme

Speaking about the modus operandi of the crime, the Rural SP said that the criminals would give some tasks to those who would approach them for monetary gain following advertisements put up by the gang.

“Initially, the gang would provide the victims an opportunity to earn dividends on the small deposits against each task. Gradually, the criminals would ask for more deposits necessary for earning more money. And when the criminals accumulated huge amounts having gained the confidence of the victims, they made themselves underground having wound up the racket, ” the senior police officer narrated.
