Patna, Jan 19: In relation to the alleged railways land-for-jobs money laundering case, the Enforcement Department (ED) has issued fresh summons to RJD head Lalu Prasad Yadav, his son, and Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav to appear for questioning at its Patna office, official sources stated on Friday.

Prasad has been scheduled to give his deposition on January 29, and Tejashwi has been called for the following day, January 30. A team was dispatched to deliver the summonses to the official residence of Prasad’s wife, former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi, in Patna.

The Enforcement Directorate has instructed both individuals to appear at its office located on Bank Road in the capital for deposition. Both of them had ignored the previous summonses in this instance.

Land-for-jobs scam

The land-for-jobs scam relates to the time when Lalu Yadav served as the railway minister during the initial term of the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government at the Central level.

During the period from 2004 to 2009, the accusation is that numerous individuals were appointed to Group “D” positions across different zones of the Indian Railways. In return, these individuals allegedly transferred their land to the family members of the then railway minister Lalu Yadav and A K Infosystems Private Limited.
