Patna, Jan 30: Tejashwi Yadav, a prominent figure in the Rashtriya Janata Dal and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, arrived at the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) office in Patna on Monday to attend proceedings related to the land-for-jobs scam.
Tejashwi Yadav arrived at the ED office with extensive security measures in place, accompanied by a sizable group of RJD members and supporters who vociferously expressed their support for him through slogans.
Lalu Yadav questioned yesterday
Earlier on Monday, Lalu Yadav, the former chief minister of Bihar and chief of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), appeared at the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) office in Patna for interrogation in the alleged land for Job scam.
Lalu Yadav arrived at the central agency’s office with his daughter Misa Bharti. However, Bharti was not allowed to enter the ED office.
ED questioned Lalu Yadav for around 10 hours.

PMLA court issues notice
The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) said in a release that earlier in the day, a PMLA court issued notices against Amit Katyal, Rabri Devi, Misha Bharti, Hema Yadav, and Hridyanand Chaudhary, requiring them to appear on February 9, 2024, for additional trial in the alleged ‘land for job scam.’
In the alleged scam, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had filed a prosecution complaint (PC) on January 1, 2024, before the Special Court (PMLA), New Delhi, under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, against Amit Katyal, Rabri Devi, Misha Bharti, Hema Yadav, Hridyanand Chaudhary, and two companies: A K Infosystems Private Limited, A B Exports Pvt. Ltd.
Land-for-jobs scam
The land-for-jobs scam relates to the time when Lalu Yadav served as the railway minister during the initial term of the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government at the Central level.
During the period from 2004 to 2009, the accusation is that numerous individuals were appointed to Group “D” positions across different zones of the Indian Railways. In return, these individuals allegedly transferred their land to the family members of the then railway minister Lalu Yadav and A K Infosystems Private Limited.
