Jamshedpur, Feb 8: “The BJP-led NDA government in the Centre has become directionless and bereft of any issue. This is why it has sent Hemant Soren to jail by engaging ED after him, ” Chief Minister Champai Soren observed this while addressing a gathering at the Gopal Maidan in Bistupur on Friday.
Distribution of Abua Awas Yojna certificates
The gathering was mainly meant for the distribution of Abua Awas Yojna certificates among the beneficiaries and also for the disbursement of the first instalment of money among over 24,000 beneficiaries spread across Kolhan.
The chief minister who is also fondly known as Kolhan Tiger disbursed Rs 74.78 crores for the 24.827 beneficiaries of the Abua Awas Yojna by pressing the button from the dais.
Over 5,000 people, including women, attended the grand function having come from remote areas of the twin districts of Singhbhum and also from the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district in a festive-like ambience.

The chief minister said no middlemen would be allowed to play any role in the allotment of the Abua Awas Yojna. If any officer is found involved in the irregularities, then the Block Development Officer concerned would be held responsible and be lodged in jail.
125 units of free electricity, irrigation to be upgraded
Speaking on the occasion, Champai Soren declared that from now onwards electricity consumers will be given free power upto 125 units instead of the earlier free power slab of 100 units.
The chief minister also declared that he would ensure an effective irrigation system in the Kolhan region for which he would bring about a network of canals in the areas.
Banna Gupta and Jugsalai MLA address gathering
Earlier, Congress legislator and Jamshedpur West legislator Banna Gupta and Jugsalai MLA, Mangal Kalindi who shared the dais with the chief minister addressed the gathering.
Speaking on the occasion, Banna Gupta said the former CM, Hemant Soren has been put behind bar following a conspiracy of the NDA government in the Centre.
Jugsalai MLA, Mangal Kalindi alleged the central government to have sent the former CM, Hemant Soren to loot the minerals of Jharkhand.
On the occasion, the chief minister Champai Soren was felicitated by the representatives of several organisations and corporate houses, including that of Tata Steel.
