Mayor seat reserved for SC category this year
In 2022 and 2023, the Congress abstained from voting, which helped the BJP win the mayoral election.
Every year, during the five-year term of the House, elections for the three positions take place. This year, the mayor’s position is specifically reserved for the Scheduled Caste (SC) category.
