New Delhi, Feb 27: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs staged a demonstration outside the Delhi Assembly on Thursday after allegedly being barred from entering the premises. The protest took place ahead of the third day’s proceedings of the new session under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.

AAP leaders, including Leader of Opposition Atishi, accused the Speaker of ordering police to prevent them from entering, with barricades reportedly set up to block their way.

Atishi condemned the move as “undemocratic and unconstitutional,” emphasizing that such an action was unprecedented in the country’s history. She pointed out that even in Parliament, suspended members are allowed to protest under the Gandhi statue.

Atishi questioning the legality of the restrictions imposed on them said that despite attempts to speak with the Speaker, no resolution was reached, and the MLAs remained blocked from entering the Assembly premises.
