New Delhi, April 2: AAP politician Sanjay Singh was granted bail by the Supreme Court on Tuesday in connection with a money laundering case involving the Delhi excise policy scam/ liquor scam.
Sanjay Singh was imprisoned for six months before being ordered to be released by a bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna, Dipankar Datta, and P B Varale.
During a hearing on Singh’s plea contesting his arrest and remand in the money laundering case, the highest court rendered its decision.
ED says no objections to bail
The Enforcement Directorate stated that it has no objections to AAP leader Sanjay Singh being granted bail in the case.

While proceedings resulting from an inquiry report under sections 3 and 4 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) were pending, the ED stated that it did not object to the AAP leader being granted bail.
Sanjay can continue his political activities during bail: SC
However, the court emphasized that the granting of bail in this case should not be considered as a precedent, as it heard the petition filed by the Rajya Sabha MP against his arrest and remand by the probe agency.
The Supreme Court bench stated that Sanjay Singh could also continue with his political activities during the duration of his bail.
A trial court will determine the terms of the AAP leader’s bail.
