Hazaribag, Dec 1: Union Home Minister Amit Shah today lauded the Border Security Force (BSF) for its selfless service to the nation making the borders secure.

Shah who was addressing the establishment day function of BSF in the Meru training school and college of the force, said 130 crore citizens of the country will never forget the contribution of those martyrs who laid their lives for this country.

With a grand programme taking place here, Shah praised jawans by saying that they celebrate all festivals on the border away from their families.

“Because you are on the border that’s why we feel safe at home. The country whose border is not safe cannot go on the path of development,” he added.

He said India is growing fast under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Whether it is Chandrayan or success of the G-20 summit or bringing our economy to 5th position, it is because of you who guards our border,” added he. “You all are the real strength behind this development,” he added.

Lauding his party’s government in the Centre, he said they have always taken the security of the country as their priority. “We gave a boost to security, development and democracy,” added Shah.

Shah lauded the effort of forces in Jharkhand for freeing Budha Pahad from extremists. “Soon the country will get free from this extremism as CRPF, BSF and ITBP are ready to take this battle against extremism,” Shah assured.

He said he came to Jharkhand and reviewed the situation on extremism. “What the Modi government did in ten years has minimised violence in the country,” he maintained.
