Jammu, September 6: Union Minister Amit Shah released the BJP’s manifesto for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections on Friday, emphasizing that Article 370 is history and will never be reinstated.
The BJP highlighted the abrogation of Article 370 as a key achievement of the Narendra Modi government in its manifesto.
Amit Shah underscored that Jammu and Kashmir has always been an integral part of India, stressing the government’s commitment to combating terrorism and separatism.
The BJP’s manifesto for the Union Territory outlined 25 key promises, with a primary focus on eradicating terrorism and separatism from Jammu and Kashmir.
Maa Samman Yojna and support to women SHGs
The BJP emphasized women-led development in Jammu and Kashmir, pledging to implement the ‘Maa Samman Yojana,’ which would provide Rs 18,000 annually to the eldest woman in each household. Additionally, the party promised support for Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) by offering assistance through the state government to cover interest on bank loans.

5 lakh jobs, allowance for students
Addressing the needs of the youth, the manifesto highlighted the government’s plan to create 5 lakh job opportunities in Jammu & Kashmir through the Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Rozgar Yojana (PPNDRY).
The BJP also announced that under the ‘Pragati Shiksha Yojana,’ it will grant Rs 3,000 annually via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) as travel allowance for college students.
The BJP pledged to provide laptops and reimburse coaching fees up to Rs 10,000 for two years, along with travel expenses to exam centers, for students studying for competitive exams such as JKPSC and UPSC.
Rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits
The BJP’s manifesto also included a scheme for the rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits.
“The scheme will be very detailed. We will look for complete rehabilitation. Many Kashmiri Pandits and people from the Sikh community who left when the terrorism was at its peak were forced to sell their properties. We have already started working in this regard – either returning their properties or providing the amount for their properties. We are towards the completion of rehabilitation of 6,000 people,” Amit Shah stated.
Rs 10,000 under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, reduced electricity tariffs for agriculture
Amit Shah also announced that the BJP will enhance the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi by adding an extra Rs 4,000 to the existing Rs 6,000, totalling Rs 10,000.
The manifesto promised to cut electricity tariffs for agricultural purposes by up to 50%, which would help lower the costs for farmers using irrigation pumps and other equipment.

20% quota for Agniveers
Amit Shah also announced that a 20% quota will be allocated to Agniveers for government and police jobs in Jammu and Kashmir, while maintaining the existing reservation policy of Jammu and Kashmir without impacting the general quota.
10,000 km of new rural roads
Amit Shah also pledged to construct 10,000 km of new rural roads and to fast-track the expansion of metro services in Jammu and Srinagar.
Restoration of 100 ruined temples
Amit Shah announced that the BJP will carry out the reconstruction of Hindu temples and shrines under the Rishi Kashyapa Pilgrimage Rejuvenation Drive to restore 100 ruined temples.
