Jamshedpur, August 18: The city is gearing up for an evening of devotion, music and spiritual fervour as the Har Har Mahadev Seva Sangh will host its 26th annual Bhajan Sandhya at the Sakchi Gurudwara Maidan on August 24, marking the final Monday of Shravan ( Antim Somvari).
The much-awaited devotional programme will begin at 6.30 pm, with renowned bhajan singer and artiste Manoj Tiwari set to headline the evening.
Tiwari will arrive with a 14-member team of singers and instrumentalists and present a special musical offering dedicated to Lord Shiva.
The event, organised every year by the Har Har Mahadev Seva Sangh, has become a major devotional gathering in Jamshedpur, drawing thousands of devotees.
This year too, the organisers are preparing an elaborate setting at the Sakchi Gurudwara Maidan, with a large covered pandal and seating arrangements for the gathering.
The devotional proceedings will begin with the ceremonial worship of a grand ice-Shivling inspired by the revered Baba Barfani.
The imposing installation at the entrance is expected to be one of the principal attractions of the evening. The programme will conclude with a traditional aarti.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, extensive decorative lighting will illuminate the venue and the entire stretch of Kalimati Road.
The organisers said the arrangements were being planned to ensure that devotees could participate in the programme comfortably and safely.
The evening will begin with a performance by local bhajan singer Krishna Murti and his team, before Manoj Tiwari takes the stage.
The organisers have invited devotees to reach the venue before 6.30 pm and occupy their seats in time.
Entry to the programme will be free and will be regulated through passes distributed by the Sangh.
A few rows in the front section will remain reserved. Devotees will also be provided free tea, drinking water and bhog prasad during the programme.
The Sangh said comprehensive arrangements were being made for crowd management, traffic regulation, fire safety and security.
A dedicated team of volunteers will remain deployed throughout the event to assist devotees and maintain orderly movement.
The district administration and police authorities are also expected to extend support for the arrangements.
A key feature of the evening will be the presentation of the ‘Sangh Ratna Service Award’ to five personalities for their contribution to society. The awardees include renowned surgeon and former Tata Motors Hospital general manager Dr Sanjay Kumar, noted obstetrician and gynaecologist Dr Anju Bajoria, social worker Ashok Ghosh, patriotic singer Sardar Balwinder Singh, and veteran sports personality Hasan Imam Malik, popularly known as Chiku.
The Sangh has maintained a tradition of recognising individuals who have made meaningful contributions in fields ranging from healthcare and social service to education, journalism, sports, culture and environmental protection.
Over the years, several prominent personalities, including Padma Shri awardees, doctors, sportspersons, artists, journalists and social workers, have received the Sangh Ratna and Sangh Seva awards.
The annual Bhajan Sandhya has also established a strong musical legacy, with several celebrated artistes having performed on the Sangh’s platform.
The list includes Anup Jalota, Kailash Kher, Malini Awasthi, Lakhbir Singh Lakha, Manoj Tiwari, Pawan Singh, Kanhaiya Mittal, Kalpana Patowary and Bharat Sharma Vyas, among others.
Founder Amarpreet Singh Khanuja Kale said the Bhajan Sandhya was dedicated to Lord Shiva and sought to promote devotion, social harmony, cultural preservation and service to humanity.
With elaborate preparations underway, the Sangh expects the 26th edition of the Bhajan Sandhya to bring together thousands of devotees for an evening of bhajans, worship and collective celebration of Lord Shiva.
