Rajouri, September 9: Alert Army troops successfully intercepted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, resulting in the death of two heavily armed terrorists during a gunfight.
The gunfight erupted late Sunday night in the Laam sector of Nowshera after troops detected the movement of a group of terrorists attempting to infiltrate from across the border, officials said.

The Army’s Jammu-based White Knight Corps shared in a post on X that an anti-infiltration operation was initiated in the Laam area on the intervening night of September 8-9, following intelligence and police reports of a possible infiltration attempt.
“Two terrorists have been neutralised and a large quantity of war-like stores including two AK-47s and one pistol (have) thus far (been) recovered. Search operation is in progress,” White Knight Corps said on X.
According to officials, the Army troops lit up the area and maintained close surveillance throughout the night after the encounter, with a search operation commencing at first light.
