New Delhi, May 27: The Aam Aadmi Party stated on Monday that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal filed a petition in the Supreme Court for a seven-day extension of his interim bail in relation to the purported liquor policy due to medical reasons.
Kejriwal was freed from Delhi’s Tihar Jail on May 10 after the Supreme Court granted him bail, effective until June 1. He spent 50 days in jail on corruption charges related to the alleged liquor policy scam.
Kejriwal needs to undergo several medical tests
The party reported that since his arrest, the Delhi Chief Minister has lost 7 kilograms and his ketone levels are elevated, which might indicate a serious health condition.

The party further stated that Kejriwal had requested an extension of his temporary bail since the doctors had recommended that the AAP convenor get a Positron Emission Tomography and Computed Tomography (PET-CT) scan and several other medical examinations.
Kejriwal’s bail valid till June 1
The bail is valid until June 1, requiring Kejriwal to surrender to authorities on June 2. While he can participate in the election campaigning, he is not permitted to attend his duties as Chief Minister.
Following his release from jail, Kejriwal has been actively campaigning for the INDIA bloc in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
