Ghatshila (Jharkhand), Nov 6: BJP State President and Leader of the Opposition, Babulal Marandi, launched a fierce attack on the Hemant Soren government during a press conference in Ghatshila, calling it a “Thaguwa Sarkar” (deceptive government) instead of an “Abua Sarkar” (people’s government).
Marandi accused the Hemant government of betraying the tribals, youth, and people of Jharkhand, alleging that in the past six years, the state has gone backward by 25 years instead of progressing.
“Hemant Government Has Cheated Jharkhand for Six Years”
Marandi said the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led government has failed to take even a single step toward development in six years. “This is an anti-tribal, anti-development, and anti-people government,” he stated.
He alleged that the Hemant government had “cheated” the tribals and youth of Jharkhand by making false promises. “The so-called people’s government has turned into a deceptive government that has looted the state in the name of welfare,” Marandi said.

Attack on Health System: “Death Is Being Served in the Name of Treatment”
Referring to the Chaibasa Sadar Hospital tragedy, Marandi accused the government of gross negligence after five tribal children suffering from thalassemia were given HIV-infected blood transfusions. He said, “Death is being served in the name of treatment, and the government is only trying to suppress the matter by suspending a few people.”
Marandi criticised the Chief Minister for maintaining silence and said the Health Minister was busy blaming the opposition instead of taking responsibility.
“Anti-Tribal Government Protecting Mafias and Infiltrators”
The BJP leader alleged that the Hemant Soren government began its tenure with the murders of tribals in Chaibasa in 2020, including that of Rameshwar Murmu, a descendant of freedom fighters Sidhu and Kanhu. He said mafias and infiltrators, protected by the government, are grabbing tribal lands, while women are unsafe and welfare schemes such as pension, scholarship, and employment programs have been halted.
He accused the government of failing to implement the PESA Act, thereby depriving tribals of their constitutional rights.
Corruption, Extortion, and Administrative Collapse
Marandi claimed that corruption and extortion are rampant at the block and police station levels, while development work has completely stopped. He said law and order have collapsed, and the state faces an acute shortage of doctors and basic facilities.
“The Hemant government is busy looting the state instead of serving the people,” he alleged, appealing to voters to ensure the victory of BJP candidate Babulal Soren to free Jharkhand from “corruption, mafias, and infiltration.”
“Conspiracy to Change Jharkhand’s Demographic Structure”
Marandi made serious allegations of infiltration and demographic manipulation. He said the government is issuing fake birth certificates to create a vote bank in rural areas.
According to him, the Muslim population growth rate in reserved areas like Ghatshila has risen to 29.4% in five years, while the general population has increased by only 3%. He called it a “well-planned conspiracy.”
He cited the example of Hendaljori Panchayat, where 174 Muslim women reportedly received benefits under the Maiyan Yojana, even though no Muslim family resides there. He alleged that ration cards, Aadhaar cards, and welfare benefits are being provided to infiltrators, calling it an “attack on the identity and honor of Jharkhand.”
Marandi urged voters to “strike a blow” against the Hemant government through their votes, warning that if people remain silent, “this government will sell off the identity of Jharkhand.”
He concluded by asserting that only the BJP and NDA can free the state from corruption, infiltration, and misrule.
