New Delhi, June 22: Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court extended Bibhav Kumar’s judicial custody for an additional 14 days on Saturday. He was presented via video conferencing following the expiration of his previous custody period.

Gaurav Goyal, the Metropolitan Magistrate extended Kumar’s judicial custody until July 6th.

Kumar is accused of physically assaulting AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal on May 13 at the official residence of Delhi’s Chief Minister.

He was placed in judicial custody on May 31 following his interrogation in connection with the alleged assault case of AAP MP Swati Maliwal.

Advocate Karan Sharma, representing the accused, attended the proceedings via video conferencing.

The court has ordered that the accused be presented via video conferencing on the next scheduled hearing date.

Kumar was apprehended by the Delhi Police on May 18 for allegedly assaulting Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal.

Maliwal has accused Kumar of assaulting her at the official residence of the Chief Minister on May 13.

An FIR was filed against Kumar on May 16 under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including those pertaining to criminal intimidation, assault on a woman with the intent to disrobe, and attempted culpable homicide.
