New Delhi, July 22: Bihar will not receive special state status, as the central government has provided a written response in the Lok Sabha. Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary, made a significant statement on behalf of the central government in the Lok Sabha.
Following this, the political atmosphere in Bihar has heated up. The opposition is pressuring Nitish Kumar, questioning why Bihar has not been granted special state status despite his strong participation in the central government.
CM Nitish Kumar has repeatedly demanded special state status for Bihar.

There are several criteria for granting special state status, including low per capita income, a large tribal population, difficult hilly terrain, shared boundary with neighbouring countries and others. Special state status is granted only after meeting these criteria.
Lalu Yadav slams Nitish Kumar
Meanwhile, Lalu Prasad Yadav has slammed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and the Janata Dal (United). Lalu Prasad Yadav stated that Nitish Kumar had promised to secure special state status for Bihar, and if he fails to do so, he should resign.
Lalu Prasad Yadav further mentioned that if their government comes to power at the center, Bihar will definitely receive special state status, and they will ensure it happens. Additionally, he criticized Nitish Kumar over the rising crime rates.
