New Delhi, July 15: Demanding the withdrawal of the PPAC hike and protesting rising electricity bills, BJP leaders and workers demonstrated outside power discom offices across the national capital on Monday.
The protests targeted the Delhi government led by AAP chief and CM Arvind Kejriwal.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva mentioned that bill-paying power consumers are finding it hard to handle the rise in power purchase adjustment charges (PPAC).

During a protest with party workers at Karkardooma, he accused the Delhi government of exploiting consumers through PPAC and pension surcharges. He claimed that the PPAC is illegal and demanded its immediate withdrawal.
Sachdeva stated that BJP workers will persist with their protests on behalf of Delhi’s residents until the government rolls back the PPAC hike.
Protests were held across the city, with senior leaders, MLAs, and MPs from BJP taking part.
The PPAC, a surcharge to cover fluctuations in power purchase costs for distribution companies, increased from 6.15 per cent to 8.75 per cent this year.
