Ranchi, April 15: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken a strong stance on the alleged rape of a medical student in Ranchi’s Lalpur area, raising concerns over the victim’s safety and demanding swift action against the accused.

Acting on directions from state president Aditya Sahu and Leader of the Opposition Babulal Marandi, party spokesperson Ajay Sah visited Orchid Hospital to meet the victim and assured her of full support. Senior leaders also spoke to her over the phone and expressed solidarity.

Allegations of Threats and Intimidation

Ajay Sah claimed that the victim is in severe distress and facing continuous threats and intimidation. He alleged that the prime accused’s family members and associates are pressuring the victim and her friend to withdraw the case.

According to him, the accused’s relatives are allegedly stalking and attempting to influence the case.

BJP Demands Security, Arrests

The BJP has demanded immediate and strong security for the victim to ensure she can pursue justice without fear.

The party also called for the arrest of the main accused, Danish, along with others named in the case, including Sadab and Fabad, whose roles are under suspicion.

Sah further alleged that the accused’s father is trying to influence the case and should also face strict legal action.

Notably, the case relates to the alleged rape of a medical student in Ranchi’s Lalpur area. According to initial reports, the victim was allegedly given intoxicants before the assault. Following the incident, a case was registered and an investigation is underway.

The matter has drawn significant attention due to the serious nature of the allegations and concerns over the victim’s safety, as well as demands for swift justice.

Call for Fast-Track Trial

The BJP has urged authorities to conduct the trial in a fast-track court to ensure timely justice. It also demanded that 25% of the victim compensation fund be released immediately to support the victim.

Targeting Health Minister Irfan Ansari, Sah accused him of remaining silent on the case. He said the party would not tolerate any attempt to weaken or suppress the matter.

The BJP warned that it would launch a wider agitation, from protests to legislative action, if justice is delayed.

State media co-in-charges Yogendra Pratap Singh and Ashok Baraik were also present during the press interaction.
